Excellent budget gaming laptop
HiAfter my new laptop decided to explode its power pack after a week!!!!, I had to look around for a replacement and found this after a lot of searching. I wanted an RTX card inside but decided it wasn’t really necessary which helped in my decision.I am pleased to say that i am not disappointed. The screen is 144hz adaptive and excellent to look at, Bright and vibrant. The design of the laptop is excellent too. I love the look of it , rugged ,angular cyber punk ish…The Laptop or Hal as i have named it plays everything i throw at it as i am an avid gamer. I do recommend that you update all drivers for entire system not just from windows update, but also from ASUS and AMD sites too. If you don’t when you or if you run the steam VR ready checker app – it will return a not suitable and upgrade your GPU message. Hence my above recommendation :-)The battery lasts Ok however i do seem to be plugging in to charge quite often but think may be to my settings. Hal can get a little noisy via the fans whilst playing a game but this isn’t to bothersome to me personally. I like to here that the system is working.I could write more but haven’t got a while to sit here.Hal in my opinion is an excellent laptop and should be enjoyed by more people. The keyboard is lit and my kids went ooooooh and ahhhhhh at all the changes in colour.Excellent machine.

Perfect for high end gaming
EDIT – SINCE WRITING THE REVIEW BELOW I HAVE PLAYED CYBERPUNK 2077. I PLAYED IT ON FULL GRAPHICAL SETTINGS (NO RAY TRACING) AND I WAS GETTING ANYWHERE BETWEEN 31 AND 55 FPS. AVERAGE 45FPS. VERY PLAYABLE. I AM GOING TO EXPAND MEMORY. I’LL UPDATE ONCE IVE DONE THATPerfect for high end gaming.I bought this as I’m an avid gamer. I play pretty much anything and everything. MMOs, RPGs, MOBAs, FPS, Strategy, the lot.Naturally I’d prefer a desktop. Which I’ve had previously. But due to family commitments (office is now a playroom..) I needed something portable.I was a little unsure just how good a gaming laptop could be. But this has exceeded my expectations. It’s quick, smooth, and most importantly, can handle any game I throw at it. High graphical setting and still getting 40/60 fps. Even AAA games. The 1660 Ti is an awesome graphics card. It can cope with the 8gig of ram. Which I was worried about. But this can be expanded.Yes it’s big and loud. But you have to remember this is a beast of a laptop. Of course the fans are going to be loud. And yes it’s bulky. Its got a GTX 1660 Ti in there… It always makes me laugh when people complain about the noise of gaming laptops. And that they’re bulky. This isn’t a mac book air pro….If you’re thinking of getting this for gaming. Then get it. You can’t get much better specs for the price (850) unless you pay £1k plus.10/10

Nice laptop, just the little details lose a star.
Don’t get me wrong, the laptop is great; super speedy and not struggling with anything.I bought it primarily for working – video/multimedia editing out of office. So I’ve yet to push it to any limits so can’t speak to the fan noise or heat that others have mentioned. 8 cores and 16 threads is awesome and the RTX 2060 performs exactly as I wanted.The ONLY thing that I found a bit odd is a £1000 laptop with a 256Gb NVME and 8Gb of RAM. Not that upgrading these is even difficult, but it seems a little bit daft given that it’s billed as a gaming laptop, but has what I’d consider under sized storage and RAM.Still, I can’t complain too much… does exactly what I want very quickly, and still much cheaper than a Mac.

Great laptop, but order extra RAM and storage
This laptop is great for gaming, the default storage and ram are both small. I would recommend buying another m.2 (or a 2.5 in HDD but haven’t tried installing a HDD). I would also get more ram so you should factor that into the price. The CPU will hold its weight in basically anything you throw at it, the GPU will run any modern game at 1080p easy. The keyboard feels very nice to use and the laptop screen looks nice. The battery won’t last so don’t buy this if you think you can use it for gaming without it being plugged in.

This is a second product from asus tuf , The cooler fan make some noise after one year of using. Bot laptops Asus tuf gaming are not build to last. Straight away when the warranty finish second day the fans make a loud noise and they dont cool properly the cpu and gpu. I replace my self at one of them and is not easy to open and install the new fan . All tuf from asus aint worth the money. Avoid if you care about the money. The thermalpaste wear after same period and if u want to still use it u need to change that too which again is not for everyone. Those laptops are not for gaming more like office work. AVOID

GPU doesn’t work after only 3 months
UPDATED REVIEW: The issues are still occurring. Almost every Teams meeting sees a crash, with loss of camera/audio and a crash if I try to switch them back on.Just now on another meeting I lost the laptop screen (black), the HDMI output (black), and just had the external USB display working (but unresponsive). I could hear my colleague, but the laptop was entirely unresponsive and I had to hard-boot it to get it back.I am sick of this machine. It’s not fit for purpose and I need to explore my options for getting my money back.Having had a period of instability out of this machine (Teams meetings crashing 4 times an hour with flickering monitors for example) the USB-C external monitor was no longer picked up by the laptop.Troubleshooting that, I then found that the GeForce RTX 3070 card – according to Windows – no longer exists within it. Just the weak Radeon adaptor.I’ve got a ticket in with ASUS but this really isn’t good enough. If they resolve it I’ll come back to my review, but given that it’s been a bit flaky from the outset I’m really not happy with this.Fingers crossed, but for now I’d advise everyone steer clear.
